Information we collect
- Account information — name, email, phone, password, and (optionally) profile photo.
- Order information — items ordered, delivery addresses, instructions and timing.
- Payment information — handled by our PCI‑compliant payment processors; we never store full card numbers.
- Device and usage data — IP address, device type, app version, and anonymized analytics events.
- Location data — only when you allow it, to find nearby chefs and enable delivery tracking.
How we use your information
- To fulfil orders and provide customer support.
- To operate, secure and improve the service.
- To send order updates and, with your consent, marketing communications you can opt out of at any time.
- To detect fraud and meet legal obligations.
Sharing
We share the minimum information required to fulfil your order with the chef preparing it and the driver delivering it. We use service providers (hosting, payments, analytics, communication) that are contractually bound to protect your data. We do not sell your personal information.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. To exercise these rights, email privacy@africanlicious.com.
Data retention
We keep personal data only as long as needed to provide the service, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes and enforce our agreements.
Security
We use encryption in transit, encrypted storage, role‑based access controls and continuous monitoring. No system is perfectly secure — please use a strong, unique password.
Children
Africanlicious is not directed to children under 13 (or the higher age required by your local law), and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
International transfers
Your data may be processed in countries other than your own. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as standard contractual clauses.
